Snowboarding and skiing are challenging and enjoyable and leave you wanting to repeat the races or other games within the sport. To add extra fun, use the Wii Balance Board; it realy feels like you're actually in the game. Bobsledding is another fun game to play, which also brings about a sense of replay value as you try to get the fastest time by maneuvering your sled around the track.
If you get tired of shaking your arms and concentrating on staying on course, ice skating can relax your tension as you move the Wii-mote in the specified direction. The game does get boring fast though, and is probably more appealing to younger or ultra causal gamers. Aside from that, gamers can also play ice hockey. Just stick to your NHL games though, because this game is more frustrating than enjoyable and ultimately confusing. The game is more about shooting as many times at the goalie until he/she gets too dizzy to stop the puck. There is barely any way to skillfully shoot the puck in the goal.
Visually, the game is just as good as any other game on the Wii. There are many characters available to choose from, each designed in very nice quality. During dream events, it's neat to play in the worlds of Mario and Sonic, which include levels of their friends, as well as their foes, such as Bowser or Dr. Eggman.
In the end, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is more for your family or younger, casual gamers. However, it best to stick with the first game, as it packs more sports, making it less repetitive as it's follow-up. Good try Sega, but you can only play so many winter sports before it starts to get tedious.
